The Bargara by Night 12hr Backyard Ultra invites runners to test their endurance with 6.7km loops, starting on the hour, every hour, for up to 18 hours.

Yes we are still calling it the Bargara by Night 12hr Backyard Ultra, even though there are 6, 12 & 18 hour races.

Kicking off at noon on 29 August from Neilsons Beach Park, competitors will push their limits through the first challenge of 6 x 6.7km loops in daylight in on trails…

Then get ready to race through the night?

Headlamps required for every night lap, competitors are required to be 18yo+

For those who last the daytime loops (are 18yo+ and registered for the 12 or 18 hours), can take on the night time challenge along the 6.7k path under the glow of a full moon!

The ultimate test is beyond midnight, after you’ve run the first 80km, those registered for the 18hrs take on the additional 40.2km run over 6 hours to the finish.

If there is more than one runner (Male & Female) remaining, the winner will be determined by the fastest overall time.

Registration, Pack Pickup and Gazebos

Race Pack collection for the Bargara by Night 12hr Backyard Ultra will be from the Registration tent at Neilson’s Park on Saturday 29 August from 10am to 11:30am.

Gazebo spaces will be assigned at registration. (Do not squat on a spot and expect to be allocated that spot)

Please bring your own weights to hold the Gazebo down as NOTHING is permitted to be driven into the ground at Neilsons Park due to the underground irrigation system. (Failure to comply could lead to a rupture of the irrigation system, the cost of repair will be at your own expense)

Gazebos will need to be removed by 7am on Sunday the 30th August at the latest.

Online registration closes at 9pm on Thursday the 27th August

Once online registration is closed you will only be able to register on the day at Neilsons Park for the original cost of each race distance plus an additional $30.

Age limit restriction are: 14+ for the first 6 hrs only, 18+ to participate in the 12 and 18 hour races

You will need to hang up your Event Cap & name badge, supplied at registration, on the line on after collecting them at registration on Saturday. This will be the visual indicator that you are still competing (the official indicator is that the Number Marshall in the Corral has you recorded as starting and completing each sequential lap within the rules of the event).

Timing is being recorded by the Timing Wizards.
